On today’s Personal Safety, Bob Boilard of Defensive Strategies LLC and Lori started off talking about how the elderly have become easy targets for scammers. They told us the typical target would be those who are isolated or lonely, possibly physically impaired, may not be good at handling their finances, or recently lost there spouse.
Bob told us the two ways scammers trap their victims is by 1. gaining their trust or 2. by threatening them and instilling fear. The conversation continued with how scam artists may pose as trustworthy people trying to help elderly victims with something they might need.
