Radical Faith Adventures In Tonga

Posted By: lorilynngreene On:

On today’s Samaritan Truth, Ashley Paquette joined Lydia and Lori to tell us her story of living on an island in Tonga with her family. Lydia started the conversation telling us how she met Ashley and her family at a diner where she used to work. That day, Lydia’s daughter, Brooklyn decided to draw Ashley’s family a picture. Ashley told her she would take a picture with it when she returned to Tonga.

Ashley then told us how she and her husband Chris accepted God’s call to move to Tonga. She told us about her two year battle with depression, and also shared about the testing they endured, being unable to pay the bills, not having money for food, and her regretful times of blaming her husband.

Ashley expounded on the culture of Tonga, being one of religious status, and her family’s passion to live among the people to be a positive influence, especially with the youth. Finally, Ashley shared some of their family adventures: building their bamboo house, riding bikes all over the island and digging a well. Listen in and hear more about it!
