Today, on Recovery Now, Jen Lever joined Lori to share The Good News For Recovery. They started off in remembrance of the late Jason Hart. They highlighted two kingdoms, but told us the kingdom of God is where recovery is possible. Jen added how Jesus made things right for us and we can receive it to recover our life.
Next, they pointed out how the enemy tries to make us think we don’t have what God died for us to have. Also, how most of our problems are an identity crisis, but a revelation of what Jesus finished for us changes things. They then encouraged us not to try to help ourselves, but receive the free gift of righteousness.

Today, on the Good Life, Advancement Strategist, Lori Lynn Greene from Alpha Advancement Strategies talked about When You Feel Like Giving Up. She started off telling us reasons why people give up, and how things don’t always turn out the way we think. She encouraged us to find out what we’re designed to do and align to it. She then differentiated between people who play life safe and rarely change, and people who take risks and have the faith it requires to have success.
Next, she told us we need both certainty and uncertainty in life, but we must to let God change us in moments we feel like giving up. She told us we’re not our feelings, but they’re a compass that tells us what we’re believing. She added the other side of rewards are regrets, and to realize we’re in training for the next thing when we feel like giving up.
She continued with a personal story of reentering the workforce dealing with insecurity and anxiety, and how she prayerfully got through it. She shared how we often think about what we have to do instead of what we want to do, but how learning to be grateful wherever God has us helps. She then told us of a woman who inspired her to live life on her terms when she felt is was too late. Finally, she encouraged us with how to empower ourselves when we feel like giving up. Today, Rick Kardos from The Nathan Project joined Lori to discuss Pornography, Violence & Intimacy. They started off talking about how culture tends to rationalize and minimize pornography. Also, how a picture is a thousand words that stays with us longer, and similar to cocaine, changes our brain.
Next, Rick shared how beliefs and behaviors are associated with pornography addiction, resulting in solo sex. Then he addressed parents, giving examples of how violence, rape and bullying are too widely accepted. He then added about poor role models and other risk factors. Finally, he told us how his wife helps women through the painful process of being married or divorced from a man with pornography addiction. Listen in and hear more about it!
Today, on Personal Safety, Master Trainer of Defensive Strategies, Bob Boilard, joined Lori to discuss the SAFE Active Shooter Response Program. They started off talking about Bob’s extensive training, and as one of the Founders of Second Amendment Foundation training Division (SAFTD). They highlighted active shootings, and Bob told us about the different types of shootings. Also, 98% of all active shooter events happen in Gun Free Zones.
Next, Bob told us about his program that trains people what to do in an active shooter event. He also told us to weigh if getting involved is wise, because there are consequences, and you could be mistaken as the active shooter by police. They talked about school drills that scare children, and ignorant elected officials speaking as authorities and instilling unnecessary fear. Finally, Bob encouraged us that there are a lot of good solutions, but it’s the last thing schools spend money on. Listen in and hear more about it!

They started off talking about his early days of feeling disconnected and not knowing who he was. He added how he didn’t have purpose or direction in his life, but God saved him from the vicious cycle. He also told us about his wife’s courage that helped him realize he didn’t want the addicts life anymore.
Next, He shared about the struggle he had dealing with shame and regret, but then he read there was no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. He testified about how he started to believe God in faith when he asked God a revelation of how close he was. Then he had a vision of Jesus. Next, She highlighted the stages of disbelief, anger, and the choice between retaliation or responding with maturity. She added how we can benefit from self-examination, prayer, and wise counsel, to help us learn why we’re being mistreated. She told us we don’t have to like conflict for conflict to find us. She quoted Maya Angelo, who said, “Believe people the first time they show you who they are.” Finally, she told us the importance of setting boundaries and being self-aware.
