On today’s Recovery Now, Jen Lever joined Lori to talk about Identity, Restoration and Love That Never Fails. They started off talking about an Identity and Self-Worth article written by Deo Mwano. They continued with how our true identity is in God, and his desire is for us to be whole. Jen shared how she discovered her identity and how it helped her live through trials in spite of her son’s addiction.
Next, they told us our identity is not based on our circumstances, but on the truth of God’s Word. They shared how this relates to recovery, and Jen encourage us not to lose sight of who we are. They then highlighted the difference between the the real enemy who comes to steal, kill and destroy vs. Jesus, who is in the restoration business. They also talked about self-righteousness vs the righteousness of God.
They continued talking about our spiritual connection to God, and encouraged anyone listening to seek the truth for their own life. They told us the difference between idol worship and a relationship with God. They also shared the difference between salvation and the lordship of Jesus Christ. Finally, they revealed that the battle is spiritual, and how John 1:12 shows us those who receive him become children of God. Listen in and hear more about it.
