On today’s It’s A Wonderful life, Coach, Speaker & Executive Director of The The John Maxwell Team, Marc Major, joined Lori to talk about Effective Communication for Leaders. They started off talking about the importance of communication at all levels of leadership. They then told us how to identifying with others to increase influence with them. They encouraged us to listen with an open heart to find where they’re coming from, so we know how to best lead them.
Next, Marc told us connecting is all about the other person. Lori added how it is similar to sales when you create equal stature with the other person, and use language that encourages partnership. Marc warned us that if we need to use our title we’re not leading well. Instead, it’s about moral building and showing each person they have value to the organization.
They also discussed the importance of how we treat people, how to have the difficult conversations, and making sure people know you have an open door policy so they feel they can talk with you. Finally, Marc highlighted some statistics about communication and how being positive is the most effective. Listen in and hear more about it.
