Developing A Leadership Culture

On today’s It’s A Wonderful Life, Coach, Speaker & Executive Director of The The John Maxwell Team, Marc Major, joined Lori to talk about developing a leadership culture. They started off talking about the premise that “We are Leaders, but what kind, and where are we leading?” They also discussed the importance of having other people who can assume leadership, growing these leaders, and avoiding the martyr syndrome. They added about modeling leadership, interviewing candidates, and avoiding hiring regret.

Next, they highlighted how first impressions are deceiving. Instead, looking at it from a partnership perspective, and not an “I’m the boss” perspective.  They highlighted the In It Together motto of “Bringing out the best in people to influence positive change.” Marc then told us to routinely and systematically developing people gives them room to grow. Also, focusing on what we’re trying to accomplish together, listening to their input, and always developing yourself, and being engaged with upcoming leaders. Listen in and hear more about it.
