On today’s Musings with Marnie, Marnie Wells from Gilead’s Balm join Lori to give tribute to dads for Father’s Day. They started off taking about God being the only perfect father. Marnie told us about her father, and they discussed the differences in past eras to today. They continued talking about how fathers were God’s idea, and that children need fathers.
Next, they talked about how the opioid crises could be related to the breakdown of the family and absent fathers. They also discussed the challenges some moms face of having to be both mom and dad, and how to make the best of this difficult situation. They then highlighted how mainstream media has reduced father’s to be the brunt of jokes, but how wives can help bring a healthy view of fatherhood back into the lives of their children.
Lori shared her tribute of her father, and Marnie told us how she taught her children how to recognize the value in their father in a creative way. Finally, they concluded with the biblical view of fatherhood, taking responsibility to turn around our situations and the importance of forgiving our fathers so we don’t repeat patters.
