On today’s show, Marc, Major, Bob Boilard, and Jen Lever, joined Lori for a special Memorial Day broadcast. They started off talking about the importance of understanding WHY we celebrate Memorial Day. The explained the differences between Memorial day, Veteran’s Day, and Armed Forces Day. The discussed past wars that aimed to protect the freedoms we have as a nation. Also, the biblical memorials of remembrance that were points in time that had lessons for all generations.
Next, they talked about why anyone would want to die in war. They told us about citizens of other countries being prisoners in their own land, but how freedom is an unalienable right given to every person by God. They also paralleled the willingness of Jesus to lay down his life for us, and the current devaluing of life by so many who don’t understand true freedom. Finally, they all agreed that war should be a last resort, and how we can learn from history. Listen in and hear more about it!
