On today’s Personal Safety, Master Trainer of Defensive Strategies, Bob Boilard, joined Lori to discuss Empowering Educators and Administrators to Protect Children. They started off talking about the FREE Save Our Children event Defensive Strategies will be hosting in Concord March 28th. Bob told us it’s important for Administrators and Teachers to talk about their rights concerning carrying guns in school. They also discussed the “Why’s” of pro gun control and how it infringes on our Constitutional rights.
Next, they highlighted recent mass shootings and the ambiguity surrounding whether or not they were staged, since details are not always known, gun control seems to be the first response, and eye witnesses often having a different testimony than the media. They agreed responding with more gun laws comes down to political control and a society that has continually overstepped the boundaries of the Constitution, and we let them. Finally, they asked us Administrators and Educators what they would do in an active shooter situation without proper risk assessment and training. Listen in and hear more about it.
