On today’s Musings with Marnie, Marnie Wells from Gilead’s Balm, joined Lori to talk about resilience to bounce back from difficulties. They started of talking about how we don’t start off knowing how to be resilient, but we learn to adapt. The analogy of a Drill Sargent dealing with recruits in boot camp was discussed to show how important it is to know God’s voice in the midst of life’s battles.

Marnie then shared antonyms for resilience to highlight how our own stubbornness and negativity can prevent us from bouncing back from difficulties. The added how humility is vital in knowing our need of God, and that it’s a choice. Marnie shared a story about Joni Eareckson Tada, who broke her neck and was confined to a wheel chair, yet learned resilience in her sixties. Lori then told us about past health issues, and how she discovered God was more than enough, even when she was confined to a chair.

The conversations concluded about the importance of developing a set of core beliefs to maintain a positive outlook on life. This included learning to forgive, exercising, and knowing our identity. Listen in an hear more about it.
