On today’s Personal Safety, Bob Boilard, from Defensive Strategies, joined Lori to discuss Keeping Kids Safe From School Shootings. They started off talking about the recent school shooting in Florida, and an article revealing how the FBI were informed prior to the incident. They also highlighted media interviews of students right after who said they knew the perpetrator would do something like this.
Next, they continued about what parents can do to better prepare their kids to stay safe in similar situations. Lori encouraged parents to encourage their kids in self-defense classes, to learn situational awareness and emotional control. Then Bob told us access control in schools was important.
