On today’s Personal Safety, Bob Boilard from Defensive Strategies, joined Lori to discuss gun laws that could make you a felon. They started off talking about laws regarding having guns in school zones, and the consequences surrounding it. Bob told us federal and state laws can differ greatly, and how difficult it can be for gun owners to keep track of them. Next, they talked about travelling with guns, how officials may not know state or federal laws that could cause unnecessary incarcerations and lengthy judicial processes. They also discussed The Constitutional 2nd Amendment law, licensing or permits, depending on the state you live in. They also talked about laws for buying and selling guns, and how to transfer using a Federal Firearms Dealer to ensure NICS background checks and be protected from prosecution.
