On todays Musings with Marnie, Marnie Wells of Gilead’s Balm, joined Lori to talk about the danger of comfort vs the power of agreement. They started off talking about how we often fall into doubt and unbelief. Marnie then read a poem, Three Dollars Worth of God, by Wilbur Rees. She shared how we like our comfort too much, and the deep seated issues we can create because of it. They also discussed how it’s better to invite God into our lives and situations, and learn to trust him.
Next, Marnie shared the story of Hagar and Ishmael from genesis 21:8-21. She told us how they tried to take matters into their own hands because things weren’t happening as fast as they wanted. She then shared how our decisions can affect people around us, and that it’s not just about us. Also, how knowing and agreeing with what God says will give us better outcomes. Finally, the discussion turned to how we are affecting the world, good or bad, but we learn to trust God. Listen in and hear more about it.
