On today’s Musings with Marnie, Marnie Wells from Gilead’s Balm, joined Lori to discuss Stewardship for parents. They started off asking “Have we done the best with what we have based on what we know?” They shared how it starts with the state of our heart, and Marnie added the Lord owns everything and encouraged us to consider how we’re taking care of it. She told us to look at our homes, children, etc. to ask if we’ve been good stewards.
Next, they talked about how we often make life about all the stuff we have. They talked about how God sees things and the importance of weighing the value of things, whether it’s necessary, wasteful or useful. Marnie continued about how to also teach our children the value of taking care of things.
Next, she shared about how different generations can view the idea of value. They also reflected about an abundance mentality, and how we can devalue things because we can just get another one. They then talked about knowing our child’s love language, and gave examples of them. Finally, They told us it’s never too late to start understanding how to love in the most important ways.
