On today’s Personal Safety, Bob Boilard, from Defensive Strategies, joined Lori to discuss stalking safety tips and warning signs. They started off talking about a recent story of a man who followed a young girl home from her bus stop. Bob told us stalking takes on different forms and can happen over a long span of time. They shared how most stalkers are people that may already be known to some extent. He also told us the importance of situational awareness and trusting our instincts.
Next, they highlighted needing a safety plan wherever we are, and how perpetrators can be identified as being fixated or obsessed about those they pursue. They then expounded about the four points of a crime anatomy, some crime statistics, and how we can be safe and help others be safe. They also encouraged us to learn situational awareness and to be careful what we post on social media. Finally, Bob shared safety tips and warning signs of stalking. Listen in and hear more about it.
