Today on Storm chasing, Meteorologist. Weather Historian, and Storm Chaser, Ron Moore Jr. from The Storm Warning, joined Lori to discuss the Hurricane Florence Aftermath. They started off talking about Ron’s chase trip to North Carolina, and how he was gathering data for the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL). He told us how he planned to build a science company to help with handling storms. They also highlighted details of the evacuation, the high winds, I95 being under water, and how his instruments failed.

Next, they covered the details of the aftermath of the storm where 21,000 people are still waiting to return to their homes, roads are washed out, coal ash ponds are being contained, and animals are being rescued. Ron told us about the State of Emergency, the Governor lifting limitations to help movement go faster, and how this was the best response to a storm ever. Finally, Ron did a Facebook live forecast of weather for the next few weeks. Listen in and hear more about it!
