On today’s It’s A Wonderful Life, Coach, Speaker & Executive Director of The John Maxwell Team, Marc Major, joined Lori to talk about Growing Intentionally and Taking Risks. They started off talking about compliments, and how we don’t rely on them for self worth. Marc told us the real job of a leader, and being intentional. He also shared an analogy of how to seed, water, and nurture ourselves, and the importance of surrounding ourselves with good people.
Next, Marc encouraged us to read more, take ownership of our own growth process, having the right attitude. The conversation continued about setting SMART Goals, learning not to sabotage ourselves, and the discipline of making progress consistently. They also discussed why success isn’t lick, and how to invest our time int he right things.
They then talked about practicing, and Marc told us about some of his role models: John Maxwell, Zig Zigler, Jim Rohn. He also told us how to get over the past, and he brought up modern day overcomers like Nick Vujuicic, who has no arms or legs, and Bethany Hamilton from the movie Soul Surfer. Finally, they encouraged us to take a risk, focus on today, and focusing on making a difference in other people’s lives. Listen in and hear more about it.
