Forecasting Accuracy and History

Today on Storm Chasing, Meteorologist, Weather Historian, and Storm Chaser, Ron Moore Jr from The Storm Warning, joined Lori to discuss Forecasting Accuracy and History. They started off talking about the unpredictability of lightening, and being aware of the atmosphere. Ron highlighted the changes in forecasting, micro-climates, geographical predictions, and wrong calibrations with weather instruments.

Next, Ron told us about the lie that this was the hottest July in California, and how many of their fires are man made. He then took us back in time telling us about record-breaking heat in New England for the month of August. He referred to the American Weather book by David Ludlum. Finally, they talked about the red tides in the Gulf and Ron told us his predictions for hurricane season.
