On today’s It’s A Wonderful life, Casey Caster from Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire, joined us, and then Coach, Speaker & Executive Director of The John Maxwell Team, Marc Major joined Lori to discuss “Leading Yourself”. They started off talking about Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS). Casey told us the mission for BBBS is to help kids have academic and social success. She added how they also help kids with disabilities, and those with substance misuse in their homes. She then highlighted the process of matching kids with mentors, and told us about the BIG BASH, which is their biggest fund raiser coming up in September.
Next, Marc told us no one will follow us if we don’t lead our self. H added how it’s tough to lead our self, human nature, good intentions, and steps in leadership. The conversation continued about finding your mentor, being worthy of being mentored, and standing out. They talked about attitude, excellence, being on time, and being able to follow basic instructions. Lori shared Colossians 3:22 “Whatever you do, work it with all your whole being, for the Lord, not men.” Finally, the ended with how a leader affirms those they lead.
